Color Alert® is an exciting monthly feature from Color Marketing Group® (CMG), illuminating one color each month from CMG’s World Color Forecast™ and validating color predictions in the market.
Whether it is indoors or outdoors, Greenery is all around us. A close second to blue, green is the color most associated with the planet. It is the color for eco-friendly living, gardens, freshness, and the list goes on.
Greenery was determined in 2019 at CMG’s Asia Pacific region as a color for 2021, and the prediction is even more spot on than originally imagined. From a point of looking at “pure land” to reveling in the simple pleasure of a rolling pasture, the direction for green’s importance was well underway to emerge this year.
Standard Textile fabrics featured: 1) Tides in Matcha, 2) Pivot in Moss, 3) Oakes in Fern, 4) Cheviot in Forestry, 5) Hashtag in Chive, and 6) Sydney in Courtyard
A refreshing getaway from the past year’s issues, the world was reintroduced to gardens, and embracing the great outdoors as we returned to the healing spaces of nature. This fresh, yellow-based green brings the quaint countryside into daily life. Through plants, artwork, drapery, bedding, and green products, real and digital versions add to this green life. Inspired by travel, this hue comes alive with colors from nature, islands, and forests creating a sense of biophilia.
This hue is growing into interior spaces, as a hue to represent all things natural and pure. For interiors, expect to find it in textiles for privacy curtains, drapery, bedding, and upholstery.
As a perfect complement to spaces both personal and public, like those found in hospitality, healthcare, education, and commercial markets. Blended with other green hues to create a fresh take on Camo, it will also be a bold, natural statement.
Standard Textile fabrics featured: 1) Fuzzy in Seedling, 2) Frolic in Grass, 3) Hancock in Lemongrass, 4) Gilbert in Moss, and 5) Silica in Dill Pickle
At Standard Textile, we’re seeing requests for fabric samples in green tones for both hospitality and healthcare. In hospitality, customers are pairing greenery inspired colors with blues and greys. The addition of pops of bold colors help electrify greenery, pulling in colors inspired by other nature scenes like sunsets, beaches, and forests. Textural fabrics for furnishings, such as top of bed, and drapery are just a few ways our customers are freshening up their spaces.
In healthcare, we’re seeing greenery paired with neutrals in healing spaces, which creates a very serene, comforting palette for privacy curtains, bedspreads, upholstery, and window treatments.
