Color Alert® is an exciting monthly feature from Color Marketing Group® (CMG), illuminating one color each month from CMG’s World Color Forecast™ and validating color predictions in the market.
As seasons change around the world in June, it is the constant golden light that shines warmth and joy. Urban Monarch is a transitional yellow with warming, subtle red undertones that can be calming or make a huge, powerful color statement. Created as a colorful symbol of freedom for growing nomadic lifestyles, that changed in 2020, but it is now seen for its positive glow as that lost wanderlust slowly begins to return.
Standard Textile fabrics featured: 1 & 2) Avalon in Horizon, 3 & 4) Lunken in Daffodil, and 5 & 6) Matrix in Squash
A symbol of brightness and light, Urban Monarch beams of brighter times ahead, especially as we move past the pandemic and welcome much needed relief. Though there is still much to do, the anticipation of coming to the other side is apparent and reflected in a color that is fresh and springs forward in attitude. As relief efforts around the world continue to ramp up, and the world slowly emerges Urban Monarch echoes the sense of liberty.
No matter where it is used, Urban Monarch can be enhanced with different textures and sheen levels from fuzzy matte to slick gloss, all the while retaining its bright personae. For interiors, Urban Monarch can be a splash of color overhead for endless sunny skies, toss around as pillows or accent furnishings, and as well as printed mural wallcoverings, window treatments, and textiles. The ultimate color crush every interior needs.
At Standard Textile, we’re seeing requests for accent fabrics in yellows tones for both hospitality and healthcare. In hospitality, customers are pairing yellow inspired colors with green, blue, and grey. The bursts of yellow help bring a subtle glow and warmth to a room, reminiscent of beams of sunlight. Textural fabrics for furnishings, such as throw pillows and accent chairs are just some ways our customers are freshening up their spaces.
In healthcare, we’re seeing Urban Monarch used as an accent color in playful privacy curtains for pediatrics, which creates a playful, and energetic atmosphere, as well as in healing spaces to bring warmth and comfort to these sensitive environments.
