Standard Textile Provides Continuing Education at AORN Global Surgical Conference & Expo 2022

Nurse obtaining CEU credits from AORN

While COVID-19 prevented AORN (the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses) from hosting its annual Global Surgical Conference & Expo in-person in 2020 and 2021, the physical event is back for 2022. Hosted in the vibrant city of New Orleans, the 69th annual Global Surgical Conference & Expo runs March 19-23, 2022.

Standard Textile is pleased to once again provide a continuing education session as part of this year’s event. AORN members may receive free continuing education credit hours from our seminar: “The Role of Textiles in Creating a Safer and Healthier Perioperative Environment.”

Factors to Consider

Our educational program focuses on:

  • How to identify the factors to be considered in decisions relating to the use of reusable perioperative textiles in conjunction with disposable perioperative products
  • The importance of boosting sustainability while minimizing the carbon and water footprint
  • How perioperative waste reduction is an effective method for decreasing cost in the perioperative setting
  • The clinical impact on infection control when using reusable items in the perioperative environment
  • Issues related to operating room waste disposal and environmental concern

The Value of Reusables

A strategic supply chain solution, reusable products, including sterile drapes, wrappers, OR towels, Mayo / table covers, AAMI Level 2, 3, and 4 OR gowns, and AAMI Level 1 and 2 isolation gowns can play a critical role in creating a safe, sustainable perioperative environment for the long-term.

Standard Textile restructured our supply chain and manufacturing to support the healthcare industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. We added shifts across our operations, from fabric weaving to cut and sew operations, and have supplied hundreds of thousands of OR Gowns and PPE’s to help during this crisis.

In addition to our partnership with AORN and its membership, we have a team of resources available to help with analysis and implementation of a comprehensive reusable textile program.

Please contact us  with any questions or concerns. We are here for assistance as you move forward with your needs for your perioperative practice.
