While yesterday was National Napping Day, this entire week is actually dedicated to healthy sleep. That’s because each year since 1998, the National Sleep Foundation (NSF) hosts Sleep Awareness Week®. This national campaign aims to raise awareness and celebrate healthy sleep behaviors. To learn more about this important campaign, we encourage you to visit the official National Sleep Foundation’s Sleep Awareness Week® webpage.

Top tips for better sleep

Sleep Awareness Week

At Standard Textile, we are committed to helping hoteliers and hospitality professionals provide amazing sleep for their guests. In celebration of the National Sleep Foundation’s Sleep Awareness Week® 2025, we’ve compiled some of our top healthy sleep tips to help your property stand out from the crowd.

  1. Create a pillow menu: A pillow menu is a creative way to elevate your guest experience even further. Rather than selecting a pillow type and hoping it will suit your guest, a pillow menu shows the care you take to ensure each and every guest enjoys a wonderful night’s sleep. Read more
  2. Invest in sleep kits: Travelers are prioritizing sleep and wellness now more than ever. Show them you are too when you provide silk face masks, soothing pillow mist, or a relaxing body balm. This pleasant surprise will pamper your guests in the most memorable way. Read more about the importance of in-room amenities
  3. Opt for blackout shades: Blackout fabrics are designed to block out external light, creating a darker environment ideal for sleeping. By using blackout fabrics to create a dark and sleep-friendly environment, you can improve your guests’ chances of getting a good night’s sleep. Read more
  4. Get down with down: Despite widespread misconceptions, down and feathers offer unparalleled comfort, breathability, and sustainability when sourced responsibly. Responsibly sourced down and feather bedding allows guests to enjoy the warmth and comfort of nature’s finest materials. Bust the myths of down and feathers
