Do you recall the last time you used a wash cloth? For many hotels, wash cloth use has been on the decline. Popular wash cloth alternatives, such as using body brushes and silicone scrubbers, have been on the rise since they provide a more gentle, eco-friendly experience. In fact, according to a recent survey, as few as 14% of respondents reported using wash cloths to bathe.
So, what happens to those unused wash cloths in guest rooms? They are washed…again and again. This leads to unnecessary expenses for an amenity that most guests wouldn’t even miss.
This begs the question – why isn’t there a better wash cloth alternative on the market today?
When a popular hotel chain approached us with this problem, we knew we needed to create a wash cloth alternative that would not only address the brand’s sustainability goals, but also reduce the number of SKUs carried and lower overall costs. As a result, we’d like to introduce the innovative VersaTowel®.
The VersaTowel® Hand-Wash Towel serves the functions for both hand and wash towels – eliminating the need to stock both items. This hybrid towel reduces waste and water usage, as well as lowers total terry acquisition costs. The VersaTowel® Hand-Wash Towel is a cotton-poly blend with a double cam border on each end.
This new towel comes Room Ready for You® Laundered with Tide®, clean and ready for immediate use. This eliminates the need for the first wash and decreases water consumption.
Traditional washcloths measure 12×12” or 13×13”, while a hand towel measure 16×30”. The VersaTowel® Hand-Wash Towel comes in between the two towels at 13×16”, making it a perfect wash cloth alternative. Now guests can choose whether to use it as a hand or wash towel, since its size allows it to function effectively as either.

Cumulus® retains its fluffy, cloud-like appearance from the beginning of its lifecycle to the end by incorporating wash-activated patterning. The top cover’s waffle design appears as ripples–rather than wrinkles–when washed and dried, completely eliminating the need to iron.
Circa® Bed Wrap has become a favorite among hotel designers, hoteliers, and vacation rental owners by offering a quick guest room refresh without breaking the bank.
In 2022 we introduced a pilot Take-Back Recycling Program in collaboration with two of our hospitality customers, with over 35 properties nationwide. The aim was to address the challenge of managing textiles that are at the end of their life and are damaged beyond the possibility of donation for reuse. This initiative allowed us to…
