The CPG is a consolidation of current evidence-based clinical practice recommendations from around the world for the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries.
CINCINNATI, Ohio (November 15, 2019) – Standard Textile announces its supporting sponsorship of the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel’s (NPIAP) launch of the 2019 International Pressure Ulcer/Injury Prevention and Treatment Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) on Friday, November 15-16, 2019 at the University of Southern California (USC) Campus in Los Angeles, Calif.
The Standard Textile team will present the company’s DermaTherapy® Therapeutic Linen System at booth V12.
“Research shows that national efforts to reduce hospital-acquired conditions, such as adverse drug events and injuries from falls, has helped save thousands of lives and significantly reduced healthcare costs. However, pressure injuries remain on the rise, increasing by more than 6%1,” said Norman Frankel, Executive Vice President, Standard Textile. “Millions of patients are impacted annually by pressure injuries and this is a preventable condition. We are pleased to support the launch of the new Clinical Practice Guideline and continue working with our healthcare partners to put an end to hospital-acquired pressure injuries.”
To create the 2019 International Guideline:
Silk-like fabric has been recognized and recommended in the NPIAP’s most recent Clinical Practice Guideline: “Consider using silk-like fabrics rather than cotton or cotton-blend fabrics to reduce shear and friction.”
DermaTherapy® by Standard Textile is the first and only silk-like therapeutic linen system with FDA 510(k)2, 3 clearance as a Class I medical device to reduce the likelihood of patients developing pressure injuries.
